SERMON POINTS

Are you in the Kingdom of God?

Luke 17:21 (KJV)  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus Christ was the one who inaugurated the Kingdom of God on earth from the moment He was conceived in His mother’s womb. He brought the kingdom culture amongst the people. The cruel Roman regime was oppressing the Jews. They were tossed to and fro by different rulers and kings. They longed for the Messiah to come and change the affairs. Yet they missed the Messiah altogether because of the mentality they had.

Our Lord Jesus in a hostile situation did the work of the Lord. They was a revival and refreshing among the people He ministered. The blind saw, the deaf heard and the dumb spoke. This was all the sign of His Kingdom among the people. We must hope and look forward to the Kingdom of God. Entering God’s kingdom is a spiritual experience, ushered in by the Holy Spirit with righteousness, peace and joy.

Luke 16:16 (V)   The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

The Kingdom of God is a present reality but also a future event. No one who has kept quiet has received anything. Let us also learn to take the kingdom of God by force and stand for the Kingdom in our generation.

Entering the Kingdom of God.

  1. Seeing the Kingdom of God.

John 3:3 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God

To see the Kingdom of God, we need a new pair of eyes in our inner being. How we perceive the Lord Jesus determines how we appropriate the kingdom mandate. In our sin we cannot see Him. The Holy Spirit has to do a deep work in us and reveal the Lord Jesus inside our life. This is called as being born again. We are spiritually regenerated to see the Kingdom and experience the blessedness.

  1. Entering the Kingdom of God.

John 3:5,6 (KJV)  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

To actually enter the Kingdom of God, we need to born of water and the spirit. Seeing the Kingdom is different where as entering the Kingdom of God is completely different. Jesus while speaking to Nicodemus said that one had to be baptised of water and spirit, to enter into the kingdom of God. He has to completely be immersed in water and spirit to enter the Kingdom of God and that is when our life completely transforms . Being a disciple of the Lord Jesus and allowing His word to control our lives hold the key for it all.

  1. Living according to the Kingdom Culture.

2 Corinthians 5:1-5 (KJV)   For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:  If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit

Once we are born again and baptised in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, we are given the seal of the Holy Spirit as a guarantee for our entrance to the Kingdom of God. We long inside to be clothed by our eternal dwelling. Our mortality would be swallowed up of life As long as this earnest of the Holy Spirit is in us we would definitely be clothed with life. The Spirit of the Lord and His presence and work is the biggest factor that makes us united with the kingdom.

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

When the Holy Spirit takes over our lives, He produced the fruit in our lifestyle and we radiate the Kingdom purpose and mandate.

CONCLUSION.

The Kingdom of God is a present reality and a future event. To enter the Kingdom of God we must first see it and then enter it by our commitment and devotion to the Lord Jesus. Let us start giving importance to spiritual experiences and allow the Holy Spirit to usher us into the Kingdom culture, wherein our daily affairs are led by the Lord. Let us pray that His reign should come in our lives and that we become ambassadors for our King of kings, and the Lord of Lord-the Lord Jesus Christ.
